picture + surprise

I love it when I am able to sneak in a "surprise" picture...a picture that no one knew I took.

SURPRISE!

I really wanted a picture of this couple sitting at a table enjoying each other's company. I strolled across the street to see what time the Main Street Bistro would open and when they thought I wasn't looking, they decided to sneak in a kiss. No worries, I got it all.
Happy Saturday!

{KC} trip

Sometimes the Cheesecake Factory 149 miles away is calling your name. Sometimes it is just time to get away from crazy schedules. But mostly, Isaac is just awesome.

It starts with great music on his iPod.
Then we search for Panda Express (via GPS)...
...4.8 miles...3.5 miles...2 miles...1 mile...300 yards...100 yards...no more yards...turn around...20 yards...no more yards...turn around and park. We decided to look inside a food court for dear Panda, but he was not there. Thankfully, Isaac was up for pictures. :)
my man.

inside the Nelson-Atkins museum, Isaac had me sit on this bench for a quick pic.

This beautiful tea set was showcased in the museum and I told Isaac I wanted it.

I think I like getting away from the rest of the world.

Bolivar Engagement: Katie + Collin

We met at an old theatre in Bolivar and walked around, finding lots and lots of great places for pictures. Then again, with this couple it was impossible to capture anything that wasn't just extraordinary. Needless to say, Katie and Collin are amaZING.

I think I spent most of my time with them laughing or marveling at the joy that they share and then feeling so privileged that I was there to capture it all. You are a beautiful couple, you two.

we stopped by this quaint little restaurant on the square...

dear Katie, you are stunning.

{THREE} sisters

I love my sisters and I cherish every moment that I get to spend with them. I called home yesterday to see if one of them would be up for pictures and that was not the case... they ALL wanted in! One of the greatest things about working with my sisters is that they are completely comfortable with the camera and there is no warm up time for them. They are the perfect modeling bunch.

Jaelyn has the whole I don't care pose dowwwwn. :) just adorable, Jaelyn.

I love how relaxed Jenna looks in this picture...and Jianna's attitude in the background :) way to go, ji.

Remember that whole, my sisters are models thing? Well, I didn't even tell Jenna to do this. I think she looks sweet (probably an overflow of the heart).

look at those eyes POP. Seriously Jaelyn? I. LOVE. YOUR. EYES.

this picture makes me smile. it could be because it was so windy and Jaelyn was doing everything she could to keep her hair out of her face. When I told her to just let it go she seemed relieved. my little sister looks all grown up. awwww.
i made these headbands! my sisters were thoughtful enough to wear them :)
and ji. you make all the little hearts out there melt away. your lovely heart warms mine.

Time 4 Store

It has been weeks since I have gone to the store and it's probably due to the fact that I just don't like going. I don't like driving to the store. I don't like walking into the store. I don't like being in the store. I don't like aimlessly wandering around in the store because I don't know where the velveeta is. I simply do not like the store. period. the end. no store for me.

I think it finally hit me last night when Isaac asked me what we were eating for dinner and I had to make something up. Now when I say "make something up," I mean invent something. Today, it was time to go to the store.

I got ice cream (and maybe a few other things) :)

summer {hat}

Summer is coming which means that softball is just around the corner for my family. They will spend the next several months supporting each other on (and off) the field. It makes me excited to think about documenting their lives through this summer as I travel to as many games as I can. I love being part of all things when it comes to family.

I decided that if I am going to be going to all these games, then I might as well be rockin' it out. So I got a hat. Yes, a HAT!!!

Now I just have to remember to wear it.

Family Times

Remember that inspiring family I mentioned? Well here is a little preview from their session! I always have so much fun with this crew - their two little boys are soooooo cute. Isaac and I really enjoy any chance we get to spend time with them.

the newest little addition...look at his eyes! You can find his newborn session here.
beautiful, mom. just beautiful.
and of course, the botofafer wanted me to take pictures of his stuffed animals.
and a special moment between father and son

botofafers

I love it when you can tell exactly what a person is thinking just by looking at their face. I love it when people have nothing to hide. I love capturing moments that no one else sees. I love giving my client a picture that reminds them exactly how they were feeling on their wedding day or a picture that makes a woman feel beautiful. It is my desire to give people images that reflect their personality.

Some time ago, one of my friends texted me and told me that her little boy was running around the house with a camera exclaiming that he was "a botofafer (pho-to-gra-pher) just like jordan!"

I recently took some pictures for this inspiring family. I walked in the door and sat on the couch, waiting for the rest of the family to get ready for their session. This botofafer started asking me questions about my camera. I took a picture of him with my flash so he could see exactly what a flash does. He told me that it was very bright. I think his face reflects that. :)
