{PROCESS}

Hey there! For all of you who have booked sessions with me in the past (thank you, thank you!) you know that you view all of your proofs online and choose what you want from your post. Well, we are changing it up a little bit and while I know that people hate change (myself included), but this will be for the best!

#1: We will book a session and get to know each other a little bit :)
#2: We will meet up for a fabulous photo shoot!
#3: A few days after your session I will post a preview (2-5 pictures) on my blog and on fb
#4: When your pictures have gone through the edited process, we will meet up so you can view a slideshow of your pictures (I will post all of them online upon request).
#5: You can decide which pictures you would like :)

You may be asking why? Well, I want to give you the best images possible and I want to get to know you! So let's get together and book that session!

Sirrea + Jake

I had such a great time shooting this lovely family today! It was pretty cold (below freezing), but this couple was up for anything! Their precious little girl was not as happy that it was so cold and we got some really cute pictures of her wrapped up in dad's coat. Here is a little preview for you guys! & I can't wait to get together to show you the rest of your pictures... maybe we can get some hot chocolate (or something warm).

After the session Sirrea called and wanted to make sure that we were going to get together sometime soon. I just love how great my clients are!

does this pictures make you smile, or what?

Sirrea, this is gorgeous.

me + cold = no.

I opened the door this morning and there was snow on the ground (not to mention my car). SNOW??? After the blizzard we had a couple of weeks ago I do not want to see any snow for a very long time. So I sit here and think of Cancun...so warm. So, so warm.

My favorite restaurant was definitely this Asian place that had an amazing lamb wok (that I will never be able to recreate). yum. As Isaac and I were walking along the beach, I stopped to take this picture of the moon and it makes me smile. So, so warm.

Isaac and I traveled to Xel Ha and stopped to look at these beautiful, beautiful birds.

{senior '12} Postcard

Seniors of 2012: it is not too early to book your session. I was talking to someone today about their senior session and she was wanting to do some pics in the summer and in the fall. Isn't that awesome!? She is going to get the warmth of the summer and all the colors of the fall! I just wanted to give you an idea (i like it A LOT!).

I am so excited to start addressing senior postcards! Thanks so much Kaitlin for giving something great to send out!

true PHOTO of {you}

AHHHHH! You're getting married???!? I am so excited! This is what goes on in my head when I get a call from a bride wanting to book a wedding with me. :) I just can't help it-I LOVE SHOOTING WEDDINGS!

One of the things that I offer when a couple books their wedding with me is an engagement session of 1 hour. I have often received questions about props and I thought it would be a good idea to elaborate for all of my future clients.

I want to give my clients images that communicate exactly how they feel about each other. Think about the things that reflect you as a family, couple, or individual. What makes you unique? What makes you stand out?

When Isaac and I started dating, we loved to play chess. We would head to the coffee shop on the square before Wednesday night church and visit over a game of chess. We really like spending time together and this was a great way to get to know each other.
For our own engagement session, I brought along a flower that Isaac bought me while shopping. Yes, I love flowers and yes, he is amazing.
Happy Monday!

J+F=SURPRISE!

About a week ago I had the privilege of taking some pictures at my sister's surprise birthday party...she has some really great friends!
Faith had Isaac and I sitting on the stairs so that Jaelyn wouldn't see us when she walked in (and so I could still take all the pictures that I wanted). Faith also had the girls hide in the pantry so that when Jaelyn went to grab the popcorn-SURPRISE! But when Jaelyn comes in a house, she is all hugs and unfortunately Faith was on the other side of the room-past the stair well. Thankfully Jaelyn didn't see us :)

But while we were waiting I decided to take a picture of this lovely chair. Great taste, Shelly!

and here is Faith, getting the news that J is almost here!

J all surprised and everything ;)

 and a how-well-do-you-know-Jaelyn quiz...

A big thanks to all you girls for making J's party great!

Love = Forever

So I am a bit behind on saying HaPpY vaLenTIneS dAY!

I really enjoy taking pictures of details and maybe that is why I love photographing a wedding so very much. At our wedding, two very good friend's sang "Love Never Fails" by Brandon Heath. Love never fails because God is the source of all love and all love comes through Him.

Forever Moments

As I listen to Michael Bublé, I find myself getting all excited about weddings. This is how you know that I am a photographer at heart: leading up to my wedding day, I was so excited because I knew that I would be able to watch another photographer work (and so I would learn). Of course, learning from another photographer was not really on the forefront of my mind that day...

Our wedding day was absolutely amazing (my parents are great) and I cherish every memory that I have from it. But the great thing about marriage is that it just keeps getting better. I had no idea that there could be such a strong connection between a husband and his wife! No idea! Our love continues to grow and I am blessed to be married to such a great man of God.

My wedding day did teach me a lot about photography though. I have learned that it is not about setting up the pose with the perfect light. Photographing a wedding is about capturing the moment between the father and daughter, mother and daughter, and that oh, so intimate connection between the bride and groom.

I love this picture because it is sweet. Because it is real. Because it is a picture of a fairy tale come true.

This is what photography is.

Looking Back on 2010

Looking back at 2010 there are so many great memories and lessons (including no guns in the city limits) ha. I think that 2010 has helped me to develop my style of photography: crisp, clean, and creative. I think it is really important for my clients to understand what my style is because it reflects who I am as a photographer. They know that they will get this image when they choose me to capture their senior year, family, newborn, and BIG day (aka a WEDDING!).
I am excited to learn and love and excited to see where God takes Brittley Photos this year. What I want in a session is to see the beauty of creation and capture it just as God sees it. That is something beautiful.

So, just for you, I have put together some images that I think truly reflect my style.

This image is from our honeymoon (Cancun, I miss you).

a collage from Dalton's senior session (notice he is competing against himself)

the beautiful Cable wedding. They decided to do a first look.

we took these photos off the road in a ditch and it definitely gave the feel that I was going for.

a moment between a father and daughter in Kansas

The Snyder wedding complete with fireworks!

oh, how precious are newborns!?

remember that whole lesson about no guns in city limits? yup...

Caitlyn Thompson and her fabulous senior session!

Kaitlyn loves tie dying so I loved the photos with this shirt!

Max's senior session

I always love photographing this adorable boy. You can find him here, here, and here.

the sun was just right for this picture

I love it when I can give someone an image that means something to them.
He actually installed this phone himself. Cool, huh?

running around in the woods...

I absolutely LOVE this family. They are inspiring.

it was a windy day! haha, this picture makes me laugh.

the lighting is always perfect for this little one...adorable!

we took these in a field across the street from Blake's house.

we woke up extra early for these pictures!!

another one from Jonna's session!

like I said, the lighting is always perfect for this little one!!

driving down the interstate

Isaac and I went to a St Louis Cardinal's game this summer and for some (stupid) reason I didn't think that I was allowed to bring my camera into the stadium. Little did I know!!! Everyone (and their brother) brought their camera in and I was SO SO SAD. So, for everyone out there wondering if you can take your camera into Busch Stadium-you can. I am definitely taking it in next time, but after the game Isaac drove me around just so I could take a few. These were both taken on I-44 with my camera hanging out the window. Isaac was afraid for the life of my camera, but I assured him that we had insurance. And although you may think that would not be covered under my policy, it is. :)

This is one of my favorite pictures to take. I don't know why...just is.

And I loved the color of the sky!
