Pepper + Laughter

It's kind of hard to explain what Isaac brings to my life because the list is long and the impact is great. But today, as I sit here and wait for the next thing on my to-do list, I am reminded of the laughter that I share with him. I can't even remember how it started...I was probably sneaking up from behind him and blowing in his ear or tickling him when he darted into the kitchen and returned with the pepper grinder.

and i laughed because I wondered what he could possibly want with a pepper grinder. and then he pretended like he was going to spray me with pepper. and I laughed again and again. I ran outside before begging him to let me get my camera. and then we laughed some more.

Poly-what?

At a pursuit 31 workshop, Karen introduced Polyvore. Poly-what? exactly.

So if you are like myself and haven't heard of Polyvore, be sure to read on!

Using Polyvore, you can create different boards featuring fashion, interior design, color schemes, and the list goes on. I had seen these boards floating around pinterest, and I thought people were just cutting images out in photoshop to create idea boards: how sweet of them. Who knew that there was an amazing tool pulling everything together!!

As a photographer, I can use this tool to get my creative thoughts for sessions out on digital paper in order to attract a certain type of client. I want my clients to put thought into their sessions. And this is such a great tool for me to hopefully inspire some of those thoughts!

Senior 2012: Casey Kelley {Bolivar High School}

Casey is a joy. She laughs and she laughs and she laughs...and then she makes you laugh. She makes you laugh so hard that you can't stop laughing and then she laughs again which makes you laugh. It's basically a cycle of laughter. & a lot of joy.

I love all of my clients and I can honestly say that I walk away blessed because of them. I really enjoy getting to know them more and hearing their thoughts on life and watching them enjoy life. Casey is genuine and thoughtful. and kind. Incredibly kind. And I am truly blessed to have spent time with her. So go grab yourself some delicious tea and get ready to be blessed by Casey.

beauty of forgiveness

the morning light gleamed through the windows, creating this soft, warm light. the kind of light that belongs in a room with a good book and a hammock. i sat down and enjoyed the conversation happening around me. and then i watched something beautiful happen.

someone came into the room and began to spill out an apology. and i have seen many apologies before (and given many more), but this apology was powerful. It wasn’t powerful because of what was being forgiven or even who was being forgiven. it was powerful because God opened my eyes to the beauty of forgiveness.

these thoughts of being forgiven and forgiving others have been rolling around in my head all day. and i smile when i think about it because i have never seen forgiveness like this before. and i am so thankful that He has given me new eyes to see it! 

It’s amazing to see how He works all things together in our lives: Billy has been talking about what love looks like and how it keeps no record of wrongs (definitely download the podcast) and a senior brought the following verse with her yesterday for her senior session:

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

He is weaving this beautiful forgiveness in and through and i smile because of Him. He amazes me. and I just want more of Him!

On Monday, I blogged the first part of this amazing shoot and I could blog again and again. I can't help but feel completely blessed today because of the encouragement and creativity from these vendors. I love weddings. Love, love, love them!!!
